Updates were announced at Intermot motorcycle show in Cologne overnight and the other 900cc models, T100 and Street Cup, are expected to receive similar upgrades soon.
There is no word on Australian arrival or pricing, but we don’t expect much of a price increase for the subtle updates, if any. Prices will be announced on November 23 at the Melbourne Moto Expo. They should be here early next year.
To meet tough Euro 4 emissions standards, Triumph have improved the 900’s liquid cooling and decreased warm-up time to minimise cold-start emissions.
The 900cc engine also gets an 18% power boost from 40.5kW to 47.5kW. Torque remains at 80Nm.
There are now road and rain riding modes and they still feature switchable traction control and ABS.
Also to meet the emissions standards, the Street Scrambler exhaust has been updated with an internal catalytic convertor.
That not only makes it cleaner, but also makes the exhaust slimmer and more attractive, although most riders swap them for the lighter factory commissioned Vance & Hines aftermarket exhaust anyway.
Front-end harshness has been decreased with new fork cartridges and the brakes are uprated with Brembo front callipers.
Styling has also been tweaked with new logos, a “Bonneville” logo on the instruments, and restyled seats.
The Street Twin also gets a restyled headlight with machined detailing and brushed aluminium brackets.
It now comes with a tyre pressure monitor, lighter clutch, LED rear light, engine immobiliser and a USB charging socket under the seat.
The British manufacturer will also reveal the 1200cc version of the Scrambler on October 24.
