Shipping costs & timing – Managing your expectations
We sell a host of products on the Motorbike Writer site. Some of the items are supplied by us and some of the items are fulfilled by carefully selected third parties from around the world.
As a result, shipping has to be calculated according to determining factors which may vary according to:
- The size and or weight of the product
- The number of products in your order
- Where you want your order delivered
- Where the product is being shipped from (location of the distributor)
- Any promotional codes that may or may not apply

Delivery times are indicative. Please allow plenty of time before placing orders that you intend to give as presents or use on a specific date, in case delays occur.
If your order is going to be delayed, we will do our best to notify you proactively, but please bear in mind that we are limited in what we can do if a major postal provider fails to deliver your item within the stated period.
Overseas Shipping –Import duties that may apply are your responsibility
Please be aware that we stock products that are shipped from: Australia, the United Kingdom (UK) and the United States of America (USA).
Responsibility for understanding and paying any applicable import duties or taxes lies entirely with you – the customer.
We accept no responsibility for and will not reimburse any costs incurred or payable relating to import fees or taxes.
Please review product page information before placing your order to ensure that you understand where the products are shipped from.
If you are ordering a product that is shipped from a different country please check with relevant local authorities to ensure that you understand and meet any obligations that may apply.
Returns: Faulty Items – Consumer guarantees
We will take all reasonable steps to help you remedy issues relating to faulty items purchased through our site, whether supplied by us or an independent third party.
As a consumer, you are entitled to the benefit of statutory consumer guarantees in respect of items purchased from Motorbike Writer.
In accordance with Australian Consumer Law, if the item has a major failure, you may reject the item and seek a refund or exchange, or you may keep the item and seek compensation for any drop in the value of the product arising from the fault.
Please notify us immediately when a fault is identified and do not attempt to fix or disassemble any faulty items yourself as this may invalidate warranties.
We will need proof of purchase with returns and reasonable time limits may apply. Where products have been damaged through misuse or tampered with, warranties and guarantees may be void.
Returns: Changing your mind – May incur delivery/restocking fees
Everyone changes their mind now and again, so we will do our best to accommodate you if you change your mind, but please be aware that you will need to accept postage costs for initial delivery and return.
The item(s) should be returned in a condition that is fit for immediate resale as new with any original packaging included.
If items are not in resalable condition, then reasonable deductions may be made in the form of ‘restocking’ fees. We will contact you with information where this is the case and provide further information as appropriate.
