A 22-year-old male rider has died after his motorcycle crashed at Stratford in northern Cairns, Queensland, this afternoon (Sunday 29 September 2019). Police say the rider was heading north on the Captain Cook Highway about 12.30pm when it hit a guardrail of the Barron River Bridge and crashed down an embankment. Emergency services attended and the Gordonvale man was pronounced deceased at the scene. No other vehicles were involved in the crash. The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
