Motorcycle toy run set for record

Toy run motorcyclists merry Christmas

The 38th annual Melbourne Toy Run will be staged this weekend (December 20, 2015) at a new venue which organisers hope will help achieve record numbers and become a state event.

The Victorian Motorcycle Council ill stage the event at Tabcorp Park in Melton and are expecting to attract more than 8000 riders, breaking the Guinness World Record for the world’s largest motorcycle toy run, currently held by a toy run in Reading, UK, with just 2000 riders.

Again partnering with classic and hot rod car clubs, the event promises to be a huge family friendly spectacle for all motoring enthusiasts featuring car and bike displays, show and shine competitions, a large variety of trade stalls and of course food and entertainment.

The event raises money for the charitable contribution to the Salvation Army Christmas Appeal.toy run

VMC chair Rob Salvatore says “This welcomed partnership with Tabcorp Park ensures a bright future for the Toy Run and for the all-important charitable tradition at its heart. Riders have a rich history of giving at Christmas time and this partnership only encourages that legacy to grow.”

Trade stalls and sponsorship enquiries are welcome. Contact Toy Run Event Coordinator: Kerry Walton, 0417 766555, or via email
