Gone are the days of the glossy motorcycle brochure. Harley-Davidson has now created a brochure app for iPad that will keep you entertained for hours.
It’s much more than a brochure of their latest models, accessories and apparel, though.
It also has video, downloadable wallpapers and interactivity such as booking a test ride.
One of the coolest parts is selecting the colours, accessories, etc for your favourite bike and then sharing it with your friends.
This is all part of a Harley offensive to reach out to a new audience.
The typical Harley rider was aged over 45 and male.
Over the past few years the Milwaukee-based company has targeted women, young people and ethnic groups such as Hispanics.
They have used direct marketing, road shows and events such as Garage Parties strictly for women.
H-D international marketing general manager Ken Ostermann says the results have been quite a success with a lowering of the average age of customers, as well as a higher percentage of women and ethnic groups.
Tools such as this app will no doubt reach out an increasingly younger demographic.
