CFMoto 400NK adds to learner lineup

CFMoto 400NK and 650NK

CFMoto Australia has added the new 400NK to its learner-approved line-up which also includes an updated 650NK, plus the 650TK and 150NK.

The 400NK costs $5490 ride away while the Continental ABS version is $500 more. The new 650NK with ABS is $6990 and 650TK is $7749. They come with two-year factory warranty. 

CFMoto Australia director Michael Poynton says the 400NK will be a “serious contender in the LAMS approved market offering serious bang for buck value”.

Both new NK models have sharp styling from Austrian design powerhouse Kiska who have been designing KTM motorcycles since the early 1990s.

The 400NK shares the same platform as the 650NK but is powered by a liquid-cooled 400.4cc, inline twin engine with Bosch EFI, putting out 31.5kW of power and 35.4Nm of torque and mated to a six-speed transmission.

However, it also weighs 206kg, exactly the same as the 650NK.

It features braided brake lines with Continental ABS, an 815mm seat height and comes in Monochrome Black or Midnight Black and Teal.

The 650NK now comes with KYB suspension front and rear, Continental ABS brakes and is powered by a 649.3cc liquid-cooled, inline twin engine with 41.5kW and 62Nm.

The 650NK is good value at $6990 ride away, which is $300 cheaper than it was two years ago when we had one for a six month test.

It also comes in Monochrome Black or Midnight Black and Teal.

CFMoto Australia is also giving away a free CFMoto rider jacket valued at $249 with every new 400NK and 650NK purchased. If purchased before September 30 2016 they will thrown in a free CFMoto NK motorcycle cover.

  1. I love the idea of a 400cc, but I don’t like the idea of a 400cc that weights 200+kg.

    I’m assuming it’s basically a sleeved down version of the 650cc similar to what Kawasaki does in Japan with the 650 Ninja to fit in with Japanese licensing requirements.

    But what is the problem that this 400 is trying to fill?
