Benelli has launched the TRK 502 X into the new baby adventure bike market in Australia.

The learner-approved baby adventurer is kitted out with a range of features to help it tackle some adventure touring, or as the company says “traverse the harshest terrains”.

They include a 19-inch front wheel, high exhaust and ground clearance, pannier racks, engine protection guards, touring windscreen, hand guards, 20-litre fuel tank and a USB accessories plug.Benelli TRK 502 X baby adventure bike

The TRK 502 X will cost $9390 ride away which is more than the other baby adventurers in the market. Retail prices for the others are BMW G 310 GS $5790, Kawasaki Versys-X 300 $6399, Royal Enfield Himalayan $5990 and Honda CB500X $7990.

The Benelli TRK 502 X is powered by a liquid-cooled 500cc four-valve DOHC Benelli engine with 35kW of power at 8500rpm and 45Nm of torque at 5000 revs.Benelli TRK 502 X baby adventure bike

The frame is made of steel trestle tubes and plates and the suspension consists of 50mm upside-down forks and a rear shock absorber with adjustable spring preload and hydraulic rebound and compression.

It sits on 19″ front and 17″ alloys with 110/80 and 150/70 tyres.Benelli TRK 502 X baby adventure bike

Brakes are twin 320mm floating discs with a 2 piston caliper brake at the front and a single 260mm disc with a single piston caliper brake for the rear with switchable Bosch ABS.

The new TRK 502 X comes with Benelli’s factory two-year warranty and two-year customer care program and is available in grey, red or white.Benelli TRK 502 X baby adventure bike

In Australia, the little adventurer joins Benellli’s TRK 1130K and Amazon adventure bikes as well as the Leoncino scrambler, BN251, BM302, BM600S, BN600I and BN600GT, TnT 125 and Caffenero 150 scooter.

Benelli was established in 1911 but is now owned by Chinese company Group Qianjiang.

Its bikes are Italian-designed and engineered with some Chinese components.

  1. No mention of its weight, which is an important spec on an adventure bike. It looks and sounds like it would be quite capable, especially with its good ground clearance. It is worth more than the other bikes mention as comparisons. The Kawasaki and BMW are only 300s and the Honda is a very ‘soft’ adventure bike. If you are a serious adventure rider the only reason for needing a bigger bike is if you are riding two-up.
