You just can’t stop motorcycle riders from doing their bit for worthwhile charities – even Movember!

Here at MotorbikeWriter we love to support riders in their chosen charity work and the latest charity ride to come to our attention is the fourth annual Ride For Your Life through the Perth hills on November 23.

Riders Jason Kelly-Pages (Honda CBR1100xx), Adam Stevenson (Hyosung GT250) and Kirk Knapman (Triumph Street Triple) had been actively raising funds for Movember Australia for seven years but decided more could be done. Movember is an annual worldwide charity event in which men grow moustaches and help raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health issues, specifically prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health.

“Three years ago I decided I needed to do more than just harass my family, friends and work colleagues,” says Jason. “So I started Ride For Your Life with my two mates. With a little effort we’ve managed to raise over $12,000 so far, and this year I’m hoping to add an extra $4000.” All funds go to Movember Australia.

The 99km ride is open to all classes of motorised-cycles as well as riders and pillions alike, including “Mo Sistas” or women.

“Essentially it’s a morning’s ride through the Perth hills, followed by lunch at a prearranged destination and bike-ogling,” Jason says.

This year’s meeting point is the car park next to Caltex at 375 Great Eastern Highway Midvale, with $20 registration for the event between 8.30-9.30am and departure around 10am. The ride takes about two hours with lunch at the Roleystone Country Club, 6 Wygonda Road.
